By pairing affordable soil telemetry sensors with an intuitive mobile companion app, Agrima allows farmers to monitor soil moisture, nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK) levels, and pest outbreaks in real time, dramatically optimizing crop yield and cutting water waste.
Chapter 02— The Challenge
Designing for intense sunlight, spotty 2G/3G connections, and varied digital literacy.
Farmers interact with the application directly under blinding outdoor sunlight with soil-covered hands. Furthermore, rural farmland frequently suffers from spotty internet connectivity.
The interface had to feature high-contrast visual tokens, large touch targets, complete offline-first synchronization, and intuitive iconographic metaphors that require zero technical jargon to understand.
